Nico Welsh is an Alt-Country artist from Washington State whose music brings together rock energy, jam-band freedom, and real storytelling.
Welsh's debut EP Lonesome Stranger drew inspiration from his current ongoing influences Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, and Tom Petty, delivering three road-ready tracks that give the listener a bar-side take on a life well lived. Lonesome Stranger was recorded alongside Luke Black, Drury Anderson, musicians best known for their work in Mountain Grass Unit, Jake Stevenson from Round Trip, as well as his twin brother Charles Welsh who did the graphic design. The contributions of these power house players brought a live, groove-forward sensibility to the record that has resonated effectively in the Alt-Country world.
In addition to his solo work, Welsh currently performs with the touring band Round Trip, and has played staple venues like The Moore Theatre, The Crocodile, and Climate Pledge Arena. At its core, Welsh’s music is lived-in, relatable, and makes listeners feel like a part of the whole. Whether you are sitting fireside listening to the record, or catching one of his electric live sets at your local haunt, the songs of Nico Welsh are conversations you didn’t know you needed until they found you.
